Cierra is turning 2 on Jan. 22nd and I have been thinking of ways to better teach her. I figure one of the best ways to teach her new words at this point is to do it while she is doing something that she enjoys doing with me. So I have decided to make a series of coloring pages using the bamboo and gimp for us to color together...

first completed rose...
My first attempt at a rose. I llike the eraser function on the pen. The tools are a bit clumsy yet but I'm sure they will get easier. Also when you switch from pen / touch / eraser whatever tool was selected last using that function will be what is selected, including color.
Simplicity was the theme for this attempt...
Day one
Let me start by saying that I'm not an artist. This is not going to be a shock to most of you that view this blog as the quality of work is not going to be to many people's standards.
I got a Bamboo pen and touch yesterday. For years I've been waiting for this type of technology to become affordable to common users. So far it has worked great with gimp 6 on both the xp home machine, which has a duel core, and the windows 7 laptop. The first project I'm working on is a simple rose sketch as I eventually plan to use a rose for my company logo I figure I better get to work on it. Most of the work I will be doing with the bamboo will be for web based graphics and buttons, company logos, and maybe if I get good enough a few t-shirts / comic strips that I've had in my head for a few years...
